Well lets start of with do you really need them? Now I am a guy so naturally I won't understand, but if you think about it all you are doing is going to school wearing it for probably a good 8 hours. In those 8 hours how many hours will you spend actually standing up and how many hours will you spend sitting down where no one is even going to see your pants and if they can well you might want a different seat. So in all honesty if you really want to push for your parents to buy you something online push 'em to buy something you will reallyyyy love and that people will actually see. Next it would be mighty helpful to list the website that your looking at because most online retailers do allow you to return things because as your parents are worried sometimes clothes don't fit, the item isn't what you thought it would be, it was a gift and you already own, it was broken when you got it, all sorts of things happen that sometimes need you to return them to the whomever sold it. It would be bad business anyways if they didn't offer that. Consider it like this, will you buy from a company that won't let you return a broken item or clothes that don't fit? Well I for sure wouldn't consider it. Now personally most of the shopping I myself do that is online is electronics because you can get some real good deals but I have bought a few shirts from some of my favorite bands, though one was one imported from Germany and apparently an XL from Germany is long rather than wide around the shoulders..., anyways I digress. I did happen to buy a pair of Vans, a shoe brand, from kohls.com. Somehow I bought a pair of Men's 11 shoes rather than my right size which is Men's 13s. Well as with most Online Retailers the package which I receive also contains instructions on what to do if the clothes don't fit me or for some reason I want to return my item. With Kohls I could either a) Use the provided shipping label and send the shoes back to the Kohl's warehouse and they would credit my credit card for the appropriate amount or b) I could go to customer service at my local Kohls store and they would credit my credit card with the appropriate amount. As I said most online retailers do provide this service but be warned it will take about 5 business days, those are just monday through friday excluding holidays, for it to return and a few more days for the money to be credited to your parent's credit card. Now if you provide the site that you are looking at, I or one of the many other people could look through it and see exactly what the return policy is for them, BUT just incase you don't want to for some reason I will provide you with a few links to some of the online retailer's I use. The links will just take you to a section of their site where they explain the return procedure. You can most likely can find it under "Customer Service " or something along those lines. I think that has been enough. A few things to note that I didn't cover above. You probably won't be refunded the price of shipping which on average if you get the standard which takes about 3-5 days is about $5. Also don't remove tags or in anyway make it look like you wore it cause some companies won't accept it after it has been worn but a company can't tell that if you don't make it look like you have. A quick try on won't make it look like you wore it. Some companies may make you fork over another $5 to return the item, that $5 is just shipping. Online shopping in my opinion is something overrated. When I am shopping for something I almost always want it right away not next week and next day shipping which is something in the price range of $20 isn't worth it. Though sometimes in your case there is that specialty item you just can't get elsewhere. I once bought this cheese I use to make lasagna that I can't find now where I live since I moved. What worked with my parents was giving them the straight up facts. Showing it to them. Find the return policy of that company and have your parents read it. Whatever you do don't have a fit.
